Following the suspension of the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) Board, the President has, through Gazette Notice No. 6258, and as per the powers conferred by section 7 (3) of the State Corporation Act, revoked the appointment of the said Board with effect from May, 9th 2012, essentially removing them from Office.

Subsequently, the President has appointed a new Board for a period of three months with Prof. Mutuma Mugambi as Chairperson.

Investigations of the practices of the previous Board’s activities and any Government Official involved directly or indirectly on this saga are on-going and their findings will be released soon and appropriate action taken.

The new Board will appoint a reputable audit firm to undertake forensic audit and a systems audit.
