President Mwai Kibaki mourns President John Atta Mills of Ghana

President Mwai Kibaki has sent a message of condolence to the Government and people of the Republic of Ghana following the death of President John
Atta Mills.

President Kibaki described the death as untimely, terming the late President as one of the greatest sons of Africa.

The President noted that the late Prof. Mills was not only an excellent statesman but also a renowned scholar who was well grounded in the field of law.

He said President Mills will particularly be remembered for entrenching democracy and political stability in Ghana, noting that President Mills had led his country through great economic strides.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, and on my own behalf, I express our deepest sorrow following the sad demise of President Atta Mills,” President Kibaki said.

Expressing Kenyans sympathy and solidarity with Ghana during this difficult time of mourning, the President prayed to God to give the people of Ghana the strength and fortitude to bear the tragic loss.
