President Kibaki appoints members of Transition Authority
President Mwai Kibaki has, in consultation with Prime Minister Raila Odinga, appointed Kinuthia Mwangi Wamwangi to be the chairperson of the Transition Authority.
President Kibaki, in consultation with the Prime Minister, also appointed the following as members of the Transition Authority:
1. Angeline Awino Hongo
2. Safia Abdi
3. Mary Mwongeli Ndeto
4. Jacqueline Akhalemesi Mogeni
5. Erastus B. I. Nyaga Rweria
6. Simeon Pkatey Pkiyach
7. Bakari Garise Omara
8. Dabar Abdi Maalim
The President made the appointments in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5(1) (a) and First Schedule to the Transition to Devolved Government Act, 2012.
