The Government will not allow some individuals to derail the plans to have a technology city build on a 5000-acre of piece of land at Malili Ranch in Machakos district, Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said.
Mr. Musyoka assured the World Bank and other donors that the Government will not allow the project to stall, but ensure that the vision to have the technology city build is realized.
‘’ I want to assure the World Bank and other donors that the Government will do what it takes to secure the information Communication Technology (ICT) project in Malili,’’ said Mr. Musyoka.
Speaking during presentation of constituency Development Fund (CDF) cheques for various development projects in Mwingi North Constituency, in Mwingi township, the VP said the Government will not tolerate with individuals found derailing the project.
Mr. Musyoka presented cheques worth Ksh 28, 357,462 for various development projects in Mwingi North Constituency.
He said the Government has declared war on corruption and that those found engaging in the vice will not be spared.
Mr. Musyoka at the same time called on leaders to recognize the fact that they have a responsibility to serve Kenyans irrespective of political affiliation.
He said he was surprised to read in a section of the press that some leaders were referring to their political opponents as enemies.
He called on leaders to desist from making hate speeches and instead concentrate on ways of uniting the people of Kenya for the sake of peace and stability.
Mr. Musyoka, who is also the Home affairs Minister, disclosed that Ksh 100 million has been allocated towards the construction of a new and modern Mwingi Market.
On the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) the VP praised some schools which had performed well and asked those which had performed dismally to work harder.
