Government to build more health facilities

Medical services minister Prof Anyang Nyong'o says the government will construct more hospitals to ease congestion in public health facilities.

Nyong'o said more district hospitals and village health centers will be set up to decongest national hospitals.

He further called for the introduction of Infectious Diseases Hospital to reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

Speaking during a tour of the Kenyatta National Hospital, the Minister also assured the Internally Displaced Persons especially those infected with HIV that they would be taken care of.

The minister pledged to ensure services at the hospital are improved and congestion reduced.

Nyong'o who was briefed on the running of the hospital by chairperson of the Board of Management Margaret Wanjohi also encouraged partnership between public and private health facilities.
