The Government is taking measures to ensure that there is peace and security in the Mt. Elgon area and that residents live without fear of insecurity. What has been occurring of late is general crime and thuggery by a few people.

The Government, in the meantime, will not allow any rallies to be held in the area. The Government will also take swift and decisive action against any person who makes inflammatory and/or inciting statements.

The people of Mt. Elgon can be assured of peace and security and are encouraged to get back to working on their farms and carrying on with their daily activities. The Government is ensuring their peace.
