President Mwai Kibaki has upgraded the inquiry into the crash of the Police Helicopter on 10th June, 2012, in Ngong area, that killed six Government Officials, including Ministers George Saitoti and Orwa Ojode, into a commission of inquiry.
The President has undertaken this move in accordance with the Commission of Inquiries Act in order to broaden the scope of the inquiry, provide greater participation by all concerned parties and ensure transparency and clear, public results from the inquiry.
Members of the Commission remain the same as earlier gazetted by the Minister for Transport.
The Commission is expected to start its public hearings, led by the Chair, Lady Justice Kalpana Rawal, on Monday, June 2nd, 2012, at Kenyatta International Conference Centre.
