The Kenyan Police officers are not participating in a go slow, the Government has said. The government has added that already Sh400 million has been released as transfer allowances to police officers.
Speaking during the weekly government press briefing, Government Spokesperson Dr. Alfred Mutua said reports appearing in sections of the media this week that police officers were participating in a go-slow were “misleading.” The Government spokesman urged Kenyans to support the force in order to strengthen it.
He said the Government is committed to ensure that police officers are better remunerated and enjoy better living conditions. The government, he said, is determined to ensure that Kenyans live in a safe and secure environment, he added that already 26 people have been interviewed by detectives in connection with the arms cache seized by police in Narok on Monday this week. Dr. Mutua said detectives are investigating the issue to get to the bottom of the matter.
