President Kibaki’s government believes in empowering citizens to take an active role in issues of development. As such, he established the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in 2003.
This ensures that a specific part of Government ordinary revenue [2.5 percent] is devoted to the constituency for the purpose of development, in particular the fight against poverty at the constituency level.
Since its inception, the fund has been used to develop various community-based projects, which have immensely uplifted the lives of the residents.
